To the Editor:

After reading through the latest letters to the editor, I feel the need to respond.

It’s a fact that Trump’s been indicted on nine felony charges in four current cases.

As of Friday, there have been no charges filed against President Biden. His son Hunter is currently in court on one charge of buying a gun while charged with a drug offense and tax fraud.

There have been more than 1100 convictions for the Jan. 6 insurrection. These are people who follow Trump and are now serving time or probation for those violations. There have been more than 60 lawsuits that have have been thrown out, pertaining to fraud in the election. Most of Trump’s advisors, along with his Attorney General, Bill Barr, told him there was not enough evidence found to overthrow the election, but because he has raised millions of dollars with his false statements, he continues to lie to the American people.

To Mr. Schmidt’s letter about veterans, I wonder if people remember that Trump criticized Sen. John McCain for being taken prisoner in Vietnam. He was in a prison camp for 5 1/2 years because he wouldn’t leave before his fellow prisoners were freed.

Do you really think our bone spur president would have done that? He never had the spine to serve.
Trump also has made statements about General Milley, calling him a traitor and said that in old times Milley would have been put to death.

It would seem that trying to overthrow our democracy as Trump did was treasonous and he should be convicted of treason, if he thinks that of General Milley.

I have heard Trump call fallen soldiers suckers, because they died defending our country. Why should a veteran support a person for president who calls them suckers and losers?
