To the Editor:

Hi! My name is Isabella Lafreniere and I just finished my 5th year as a member of the Beadle Bops 4H Club. We have a great group of kids that I enjoy getting together with.

Whether we are doing community service projects together like picking up trash along the roadway, making table favors for seniors, or collecting pop cans, or just having fun bowling, decorating a Christmas tree or making cupcakes, we always have a good time.

I have always loved getting crafty and 4H lets me show off my crafting skills as I get to let my creativity show, literally. I get to show my crafts at both our Beadle County Achievement Days and also at the South Dakota State Fair.

Another of my favorite things to do last summer was to show my chicken, McNugget, and my rabbit, Lola. 4H has not only taught me a lot about my animals which I love, but so many other areas as well.

I think all kids in our county should join up. With almost 70 different project areas to choose from, there is definitely something for everyone.

October 1-7 is National 4H Week and also the start of a brand new year so this would be a great time to call John or Jane at our county office, (605) 353-8436, or stop in and see them at the Nordby Exhibit Hall and chose from several clubs in our county. The Beadle Bops, hint, hint, would be a wonderful choice!
