To the Editor:
On Oct. 10, at 5:45 a.m., I mistakenly took the wrong dose of insulin. As a result, I couldn’t move and collapsed onto the floor.
My wife heard me fall and called the ambulance. I don’t remember my wife helping me, the ambulance transporting me or going to the hospital, until I woke up at 7:15 a.m.
The HRMC staff worked on me and I was later told that my blood sugar was 18 when I arrived. After I was moved upstairs, I lay there looking at the beautiful Lutheran church outside my window and decided to write this letter.
I thank the Lord Jesus Christ, my precious wife Kathy, the police, ambulance crew and dedicated staff at HRMC.
Everyone involved had a hand in saving my life and I will always be grateful to each of you
