To the Editor:

Trump didn’t address the mob on Jan. 6 for three hours. He was handed a note to inform him that some had lost their life. He decided to watch everything unfold on television. That’s a level of depravity that we can’t ignore.

There was no peaceful transfer of power. He thumbed his nose at the U.S. Constitution.

How can you propagate a lie for your own political power and personal gain? Freedom of Speech does not give you the right to slander someone.

Defeating Trump is the cause of our time. The moment requires each one of us - it has to be a unifying moment. If you are not convinced that this conman is bad for the country, then you are the mark. The Republican’s manta has been ‘The government is the problem.’ Trump is using a racist, homophobic, anti-Semitic playbook and the party is willing to stand by a very real threat.

How can you be a dictator for just one day? Will he voluntarily give that power back? Think about it.

Absent of democracy, your freedoms don’t exist. One of Trump’s latest statements is ‘Republicans won’t help with the economy.’ It’s literally part of their job.

Americans are feeling the shock at the grocery store and how expensive it is for basic needs.

He is saying ‘We don’t care.’

Hunger has no political affiliation.
