Those familiar with the treasure trove of items waiting to be discovered at Outta The Attic will be excited about their new move. Now adjacent to the S.D. State Fairgrounds on Lincoln Avenue Southwest, this new location offers owners, Adele Flanery and Denise Peterson, the room to expand their ever growing stockpile of vintage and salvaged items. Along with merchandise the pair has re-furbished themselves, the shop carries an extensive inventory of unique and funky items that any Pinterest fan would love to get their hands on.
The sisters-in-law admit they have always had a passion for junketeering. “Whether it’s at a rummage sale or an estate auction, we always seem to stumble across these really fun, one-of-a-kind pieces that we just can’t walk away from.” Flanery stated. But of course, as time went on, the question became what to do with their ever growing collection.
A few years ago, Flanery found herself having to make the trek to Minnesota quite often and stumbled across the small town of Buffalo just an hour or so northwest of Minneapolis.
“They have seven or eight junk shops that only open once a month,” Flanery said. “But when they are open, the turn- out is phenomenal.”
