HURON — Current Huron City Commissioner Drew Weinreis has announced his candidacy for Mayor of the City of Huron.

“As Public Safety Commissioner and Vice President of Member Services for Dakotaland Federal Credit Union, my experiences uniquely position me to lead Huron toward a prosperous and secure future,” Weinreis noted in his press release. “I will continue to foster economic growth, ensure community safety, and focus on enhancing the overall quality of life for everyone in Huron.”

The combined City Commission, Mayor and Huron School Board election is April 9.
