WOLSEY — The Wolsey Fire Department was called to a fire at a rural Wolsey address in the early morning of Jan. 30, after it was reported that a residence was on fire and nearly consumed.

The firefighters determined that the residence was fully lost and worked to save other buildings.

It was determined that an adult may have been in the structure, a fact confirmed by an investigation by the S.D. Fire Marshal.

The name if the deceaced is Jane Rasmussen, age 60.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.

Other first responders at the incident included the Wolsey Ambulance, Beadle County Sheriff, Beadle County Emergency Management and the S.D. Division of Criminal Investigation.
