SIOUX FALLS — Earl Dean Johnsen, 67, of Sioux Falls, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at the U of Nebraska Medical Center due to complications from a heart transplant.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, January 19, at Cowboy Way Church located at 46089 263rd St. in rural Hartford (57033) with family present at 10 a.m.
He was born May 20, 1951, in Wessington to Clyde and Muriel (Franklin) Johnsen. He was a talented photographer who owned Earl Johnsen Photography in Huron. He was a past president of the SD Professional Photographers Assn. He later lived in Sioux Falls and North Ft. Myers, Fla. He also worked several other part-time positions as his health permitted. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, flying and visiting with family and friends.
He is survived by brothers, Jim (Jill) Johnsen of Wessington, Lee Johnsen of Madison Wisc.; sister, Wanda (Bill) Osman of Sioux Falls; nephew, Adam (Kelly) Johnsen; nieces, Lacey Johnsen, Mary Jo Osman, and Elizabeth Osman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome memorials to The Cowboy Way Church.
