VERMILLION — South Dakota State University pole vaulter Trent Francom recorded a career-high height of 18 feet, 5 inches to finish tied for the top spot during the University of South Dakota Early Bird Meet on Saturday.
Francom, who is the record holder in the pole vault for the Jackrabbits, now has the nation’s fifth-best pole vault mark. He shared the top spot on Saturday with USD’s Ethan Bray.
