BROOKINGS — The Huron eighth-grade volleyball team rallied for a win in the A-match against Brookings on Tuesday.
After dropping the opening set 25-18, the Tigers used witns of 25-20 and 15-11 to claim the match.
No individual statistics were available for Huron, which improved to 7-2.
Brookings used set scores of 25-11 and 25-18 to win the B-match.
Lillie Miller had three aces for the Tigers (1-4), while Anna Schmitt and Allyra Kerlin each had an ace.
Brookings also won the C-match with scores of 25-12 and 25-11.
Paola Fernandez had two kills, while Kennedy Bergquist had a kill for the Tigers (0-5). Schmitt and Jeriann Fergen each had two aces, while Kinley Steffel had an ace.
The Tigers won the A-match with set scores of 27-25 AND 25-16.
Maggie Storm had five kills on 7 of 9 attacks to lead Huron. Lennon Magness-Caudell was 7 of 7 hitting with a kill, while Claire Davis was 6 of 6 hitting with a kill.
Davis was also 9 of 11 serving with three aces for the Tigers. Storm had a pair of aces on 6 of 8 serving, while Magness-Caudell was 7 of 8 with an ace. Piper DeJean was 6 of 8 with an ace and Rosalina Moreno was 6 of 10 with an ace.
Huron also won the B-match with set scores of 25-23 and 25-17.
Storm converted on all five of her attacks and had three kills, while Magness-Caudell was 3 of 6 attacking with two kills and DeJean was 2 of 2 at the net with two kills. Reagan Bischoff added a kill.
DeJean tallied three aces for the Tigers on 11 of 12 serves, while Bischoff was 7 of 7 with two aces and Magness Caudell was 5 of 5 with two aces.
The Huron seventh- and eighth-grade teams will host Mitchell on Saturday.
