Huron MS volleyball teams face Aberdeen

ABERDEEN — Huron finished with a split against Aberdeen in seventh-grade volleyball on Thursday.

Aberdeen used set scores of 25-12 and 25-17 to win the A-match.

Lennon Magness-Caudell led the Tigers with three kills on four attacks. Maggie Storm had two kills, while Reagan Bischoff and Claire Davis each had a kill.

Bischoff was 7 of 8 serving with a pair of aces, while Piper DeJean was perfect on six serves with a pair of aces. Davis and Jayda Morrison were each 4 of 5 serving with two aces.

Huron won the B-match with set scores of 25-12 and 25-17.

Magness-Caudell was 3 of 3 attacking with three kills, while DeJean had a pair of kills and Bischoff and Rosalina Moreno each had a kill.

DeJean converted on 12 of 13 serves with six aces, while Bischoff was 6 of 9 with five aces. Davis recorded four aces on 8 of 12 serving, while Moreno had an ace.


Eighth-grade
Aberdeen used a 17-15 win in the third set to edge Huron’s eighth-grade volleyball team 2-1. The Tigers won the opening set 25-21, but dropped the second set 25-17.

Kya Tschetter and Abigail Harrington each had seven kills for Huron. Tschetter was 14 of 17 attacking, while Harrington went 13 of 15.

Isabelle Kremer tallied six kills on 13 of 15 spikes for the Tigers, while Camdyn Fuchs was 8 of 12 with three kills.

Kremer sparked Huron from the service line with 11 aces on 26 of 28 serves. Fuchs was 19 of 20 with six aces, while Tschetter was 12 of 17 with six aces and Ava Wambach was 13 of 16.

Harrington also had a pair of blocks in the match for Huron, which is now 6-2.

Huron’s B-team earned its first win of the season with a sweep against Aberdeen. The set scores were 25-22 and 25-19 for the Tigers, who are now 1-3.

Aberdeen won the C-match.
