WOLSEY — Robert M. Salisbury, Jr., 68, of Wolsey, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Huron Regional Medical Center. Memorial visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, October 8, followed by a prayer service at 2 p.m. at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Bob was born on April 30, 1949, in Huron to Robert and Mary (Paulger) Salisbury, Sr. He graduated from Wolsey High School in 1967, and then attended Mitchell Tech’s culinary arts program where he graduated in 1969. He worked as a baker and later as a meat cutter until he became disabled. Bob enjoyed crocheting, reading, painting, gardening, and cooking. He also enjoyed animals especially his horse “Lady” and donkey “Donk.” Bob was proud of living on the family farm near Wolsey until moving into town (Wolsey) to take care of his mother. He was a member of the Wessington Masons and Wolsey Jaycees where he played “Santa Claus” during the Christmas season.
Bob is survived by his brother, Kevan (Kary) Salisbury of Watertown; one sister-in-law, Julia Salisbury of Wolsey; one brother-in-law, Vernon Kuper of Ree Heights; three nieces, Shellee (Victor) Finley, Jamie Salisbury, and Kiko Salisbury; seven nephews, Lonnie Kuper, Robb Kuper, Quinnten Kuper, Kevan Salisbury II, Kory Salisbury, Kully Salisbury, and Joe Salisbury; 15 great-nieces and nephews; one great-great-niece, and one great-great-nephew.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Chuck Salisbury, and Danny Salisbury, and sister, Mary Louise Kuper.
