WASLACO, Texas — Theadore A. Wipf, 84, of Waslaco, Texas and formerly of Huron, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Aurora Hospice House in Weslaco, Texas.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with burial to follow at St. Martin’s Cemetery.
His funeral mass will be live-streamed on Welter Funeral Home Facebook Page. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday morning.
Theadore A. Wipf, was born January 13, 1938, in Liberty Township, Beadle County to Albert R. Wipf and Elizabeth (Gross) Wipf. He grew up on a farm outside of Yale, the youngest of one sister and five brothers.
He graduated from Yale High School and was a member of the South Dakota National Guard. He worked at Armour and Company for 25 years. After he left Armour, he enjoyed volunteering, traveling and camping, especially with the Huron Rovers Camping Club. He volunteered for over 10 years at the St. Francis Thrift Shop and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron.
He married Delores Lemmer on October 7, 1961. He lived in Huron most of his life, moving to Weslaco, Texas in 2005.
He is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Delores; his children: Laurel (Mark) Pedri of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Tom (Kathy) Wipf of Gravois Mills, Mo.; one granddaughter: Anne (Caleb) Hayden of Overland Park, Kan.; his brothers: Johnny (Elaine) Wipf and Harry (June) Wipf; sister-in-law, Arlene Wipf and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda Shuey in 2003; sister, Sylvia Hofer; and brothers, David, Edward and Herbert Wipf.
