CLARK — Valois Ann (Frenchie) Danekas, 90, of Clark, formerly of Raymond, passed away Friday, February 1, 2019, at the Clark Care and Rehab. Center.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 19, at the Furness Funeral Home in Clark. A luncheon will follow the service at the funeral home with burial in the Prairie Valley Cemetery at Raymond. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, or one hour prior to the service.
Frenchie was born on July 6, 1928, near Turton to Jule and Loretta (Fortin) Des Lauriers. She was united in marriage to Walter Danekas September 28, 1946. Together they built Blue Top Angus Farm northeast of Raymond. She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Ladies Aide, Helping Hands, and Raymond Legion Post 209 Auxiliary.
She is survived by her children, Gene Danekas of Greenville, S.C.; Janet Koelsch of Mendota Heights, Minn., Judy Callaway of Rapid City, and Ruth Leis of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, James; siblings, Erlene,Vearl Gergen, Teresa Rusch, Phyllis Beauvais, Betty Davis, Kenneth Popkes, and William Popkes.
The family wishes to celebrate her by wearing a splash of red to the services. Memorials can be made to Clark Med Van, Prairie Valley Cemetery and Prairie Lakes Hospice.
