REDFIELD — Arnold F. Anderson, 86, of Redfield, passed away surrounded by family Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.
Mass of Christian Burial, with military honors, will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Redfield. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m., with family present at Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. A prayer service and rosary will follow at 7 p.m.
Arnold Anderson was born February 22, 1931, in Revillo to Fred and Margaret (Guerke) Anderson. He was united in marriage to Ethelmae Konshak May 28, 1955.
He proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He had been the manager of Spink Electric Coop. He was an active member of St. Bernard Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ethelmae, children, Bob (Julie) Anderson of Bismarck, N.D., Kathy (Brad) Sanderson of Lake Preston, Larry (Vicky) Anderson of Ankeny, Iowa, and Kristin (Chris) Acker of Omaha, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren: and his sister-in-law, Darlene Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Hans.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials directed to Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.
Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
