WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Barbara Schuettpelz, 86, of Wessington Springs passed away Saturday June 16, 2018, at the Avera Weskota Memorial Medical Center ER.
As per Barb’s request her service will be private for family only.
Barbara Magee was born March 13, 1932, in Wessington Springs to Gilbert and Maxine (Voight) Magee. She graduated from Wessington Springs High School. She attended Wessington Springs Academy and received her teaching certificate. She taught at several rural schools.
She worked as the Jerauld County Auditor, in the office at the Memorial Hospital and was bookkeeper for the Wessington Springs Sale Barn.
She was united in marriage to Vernon Schuettpelz. They spent their married life on the farm. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and later attended Foothills Bible Fellowship Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and contributed by researching veteran’s names for the local Veterans Memorial.
She is survived by her sister, Pat Mettler of Wessington Springs; sister-in-law, Shirley Magee of Huron; and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; siblings, Mike and Hap Magee, and Joyce Reindl; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Reindl, Harold Mettler, Mike Kieffer and Ed Meyer; and sisters-in-law, Leona Meyer and Velma Kieffer.
