Clifford E. Nowell, 82, of Redfield

REDFIELD — Clifford E. Nowell, 82, of Redfield, formerly of Tulare, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at the Eastern Star Home in Redfield.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield with military honors to follow. He will be cremated and burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday with the family present one hour prior to the service.
Clifford Eugene Nowell was born July 3, 1935 in Huron to Edward and Letha (McDowell) Nowell. He attended country school near Tulare and attended Tulare High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 1953, being honorably discharged in 1956. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Edgar June 9, 1959.
He was employed by Rude Transportation, Dakota Sheet Metal, and the S.D. State Hospital and School where he worked in the Powerhouse. Clifford farmed most of his life until retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, David (Kelley) Nowell of Detroit Lakes, Minn., Jeff (Malinda) Nowell of Tulare,  and Cindy (Keith) Arneson of Huron; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and brother, Roger Nowell of Rapid City.
Clifford was preceded in death by his siblings, Janice Dial, and Glen Nowell.
The family requests memorials be made to the Kennedy Tomsha Memorial Scholarship at Hitchcock-Tulare High School or the Home on the Range Foundation.
