WATERTOWN — Deonne (Danforth) Filipek-Jerpseth, 88, of Watertown, passed away at home Wednesday, November 21, 2018.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, November 30, in the Cornerstone Church at Watertown. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Furness Funeral Home Chapel at Clark. Visitation will continue on Friday at noon at the church.
Deonne Danforth was born February 3, 1930, at rural Cavour to Wayne and Marie (Beck) Danforth. She graduated from Raymond High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to Frank Filipek September 14, 1948. She had been a teacher at Sisseton, a grant writer for United Sioux Tribes in Pierre, a counselor for S.D. Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and the Director of Keystone Outreach Center.
She is survived by her husband in spirituality, David Jerpseth; children, Deb Jenkins, Barb (Doug) Johnson, Daryl (Jennie) Filipek, Doug (Sig) Filipek, Vickie (Jim) Pallesen, and Brenda (Chuck Ruprecht) Johnson; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Brenda Baumberger; and two stepchildren, Rannie Gayon and Sara Jerpseth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; two sons, Brian and Greg; and siblings, Don and Dorraine.
