MITCHELL — Donald Voeltz, 65, of Mitchell, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018, at the Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday March 14, at the Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard with burial at a later date. Visitation will start Tuesday with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donald “Donny” Lee Voeltz was born June 5, 1952, at Madison to Frank and Louise “Millie” Voeltz. He was raised and attended school in Howard. He was united in marriage to Patricia Hammer September 17, 1972. He was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He came back to S.D. where he farmed and worked for Artic Cat in Madison. He was a member on St. John Lutheran Church of rural Ramona.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Jonathan (Brandy) Odegard of Fort Collins, Colo., Brian Hellie of Brookings, Brad (Jamie) Voeltz of Crooks, Chad Voeltz of Sioux Falls, and Don Voeltz of Mitchell; seventeen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; siblings, Martha Faye Krueger, Franklin (Roxanne) Voeltz, Marvin (Shirley) Voeltz, Karl (Karen) Voeltz, Mary Ann (Phillip) Kester, Raymond Voeltz, Lisa Jo (Curtis) Brinkman, and Tony (Tonette) Voeltz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Lois Jane Matson.
