REDFIELD — Dwight “Skipper “Raymond Battest, 61 of Redfield and formerly of Doland, died on his birthday, Monday, February 15, 2021, at Community Memorial Hospital Avera in Redfield.
Per his request he was cremated, and his cremains will be buried next his parents in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Frankfort, during a celebration of life graveside service at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 9.,
Dwight “Skipper” Raymond Battest, was born at the Redfield Community Hospital on February 15, 1960. He was adopted by Raymond and Denise (Ecolasse) Battest.
Dwight is survived by uncles Norman Battest, Barstow, Calif., and Richard (Alice) Battest, Beulah, N.D., one aunt, Dee Battest, Clark, as well as numerous cousins scattered throughout South Dakota and other states.
He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Denise Battest, paternal grandparents William and Louise Battest, and maternal grandparents Albert and Angele Ecolsse of France, uncles Don Carter, Robert, Lloyd, Harold Battest and aunts Betty (Mel) Young and Deloris (Ray) Ellis.
