PIERRE — Elizabeth Gertrude “Betty” Dalton, 93, of Pierre, passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at The Pierre Care and Rehab Facility in Pierre.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Miller. Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Miller. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, with a 7 p.m., prayer service, all at the church.
Betty was born on March 22, 1924, in Polo, to Gerhard and Josephine (Hemetsberger) Martinmaas. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Mitchell, in 1944. She graduated from Huron College in 1971 with a BA in Education.
She was married to Forrest Dalton on Sept. 6, 1944.
She is survived by her husband, Forrest of Pierre; children, Patricia (Charles) Thell of Freeport, Minn., Char (Larry) Morton of Laurel, Mont., Lynette (Ron) Bousquet of Broken Arrow, Okla., Forrest Jr. of Tulsa, Okla., Cindy (Lawayne) Egeberg of Hazen, N.D., Anita (Jim) Dornbusch of Pierre, and Tim of Eureka; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Allen; two infant sons; son-in-law; grandson; great-grand-daughter; great-great-granddaughter; and eight brothers and sisters.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with her arrangements.
