HURON — Gregory L. Krueger, 70, of Huron, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024, at his home. His funeral service will be held at Living Hope Alliance Church in Huron on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m., with burial following in the Ideal Section of Riverside Cemetery in Huron.

HURON — Gregory L. Krueger, 70, of Huron, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024, at his home.


His funeral service will be held at Living Hope Alliance Church in Huron on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m., with burial following in the Ideal Section of Riverside Cemetery in Huron.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Gregory L. Krueger was born on July 31, 1953, in Pelican Rapids, Minn., to Dorothy Guederian and Marvin Krueger. His greatest pride was earning his GED.


Greg worked for 30 years at Sherwin-Williams Paint Company, most recently serving as manager at the Rapid City location. He served at multiple Sherwin-Williams locations throughout the state of South Dakota and Minnesota over the course of his career.


Greg was an avid outdoorsman, showing a love for hunting, fishing and camping. Friends and family could often find Greg shooting pool, playing cards, playing racquet ball and golfing. His hobbies included being active, helping out with roofing projects, and volunteering at the State Fairgrounds.


Greg was an officer of the Huron Elks Lodge 444, a member of the Rotary Club, Sportsmen’s Club, and the bowling league.


He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Krueger of Huron and Krista (Scott) Merritt of Brookings; grandchildren, Bailey Brodkorb, Hunter Larsen, Carter Merritt, Jack Merritt, and Libby Merritt; as well as four great-grandchildren, Stokley, Degan, Maddyn, and Hudson; and brother, Mike (Nancy), Rick (Sharon), and Jeff (Jeri), all of Minnesota.


He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Faye Salveson; and brother, Douglas Krueger.
