WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Jacklyn Kay Johnson, 56, of Wessington Springs, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019, after a courageous 10-year battle with cancer.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the United Methodist Church. A burial service will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will take place today from 5 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Wessington Springs.
Jackie was born on May 4, 1963, in Wessington Springs, to Paul and Karen (Simmons) Messmer. She married Lee Johnson in 1982.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 37 years; their children, Lacey (Bobby) Babich, Laura (Jamie) Parish, and Andy (Shelby) Johnson; their grandchildren, Lainey and Bray Babich, Eli and Cora Parish, Jett Johnson; her mother, Karen (Simmons) Messmer; her brother, Jeff (Tricia) Messmer; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Messmer; her brother, Allan Messmer; as well as her grandparents.
