POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. — Jared James Pratt, 32, of Powder Springs, Ga. and formerly of Huron, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017, as a result of a car accident in Cobb County, Ga.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m., June 8, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron with burial in St. Martins Cemetery at Huron. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Welter Funeral Home with a prayer service to begin at 7 p.m. or visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Jared was born July 9th, 1984, in Huron to Karen V. (Murphy) Pratt and Terry L. Pratt. He grew up and attended schools in Huron, DeSmet, and Watertown. He also attended Auto financial school in Chicago, Ill.
He was united in marriage to Emma Haymans September 16, 2006. Jared worked in Georgia for many years at car dealerships as the finance manager. Prior to his death, he was working at Exodus Ranch helping the children with rodeo events.
He is survived by his daughters, Mollie and Leah Pratt of Ga.; his mother, Karen Pratt of Sioux Falls; father, Terry Pratt (Pam Ochsner) of Huron; siblings, Valerie (Tom) Anez, Jordan (Kristin) Pratt of Ramona, Emma Haymans, Adam Ochsner, Tye Ochsner, and Katie Ochsner; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Loretta Murphy; and paternal grandparents, Boyd and Delores Pratt; and a sibling in infancy.
