HURON — Joe L. Williams, 81, of Huron, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2019, at Avantara in Huron.
His memorial service will be on Friday at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sioux Falls, at 6 p.m.
Joe Louis Williams was born on April 19, 1938, in Woodbine, Georgia to Andrew and Catherine (Crum) Williams.  
Joe married Delores Major on August 10, 1963, in Woodbine, Georgia.  
He is survived by his wife, Delores of Huron; son, Rev. Dwayne (Jackie) Williams of Huron; daughter, Kathi Michelle Williams of Utica, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy (Sheryl) Poprilo of Tampa, fla., and Andrew Williams of Albans, N.Y.; and three Godchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Boyd A. Williams; one brother, Sim Williams; three sisters, Ernie Rivers, Helen Newman, and Jessie Pharr; and several nieces and nephews.
