FORESTBURG — Judy Louise Hunter, 69, of Forestburg, passed away Monday, June 12, 2017, at Avera Queen of Peace ER.
Funeral services will be 11a.m., Monday, June 19, at Forestburg Lutheran Church in Forestburg with burial in Silver Creek Cemetery at Rural Forestburg. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Will Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.
Judy Hunter was born November 12, 1947 in Mitchell to Ernest and Gladys (Fouberg) Nurnberg. She grew up on the family farm near Forestburg and graduated from Forestburg High School in 1966. She was united in marriage to Dwight Hunter May 5, 1968.
She worked at Van Dykes in Woonsocket and was later employed at Wal-Mart in Mitchell for 11 years. She retired at the age of 65. She was a member of Forestburg Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband; children, Dan (Robin) Hunter of Forestburg, Steve (Laura) Hunter of Marion, Teresa (Tom) Moudry of San Diego, Calif., Jeremy (Kristin) Hunter of Toronto; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren plus one due in August; and brother, Dennis Nurnberg of Forestburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Doug Nurnberg.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Judy’s name. Memorials may be mailed to 210 East Green Drive, Mitchell, SD 57301.
