REDFIELD— Larry Carl Clausen, 79, of Redfield, passed away Monday, September 24, 2018, at the Eastern Star Home in Redfield of complications from cancer.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 27, at the Brentford Congregational United Church of Christ in Brentford. Burial will follow in the Mellette Cemetery at Mellette. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Eastern Star Chapel in Redfield with a Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m. A second visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m., at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield with a prayer service at 6 p.m.
Larry Carl Clausen was born October 7, 1938, in Aberdeen to Mathias (Matt) Aasmus Clausen and Esther Mae (LaBay) Clausen. He was was a lifelong member of the Brentford Congregational UCC. He grew up in the Brentford/Turton area graduating from Brentford High School. He was united in marriage to Carman Finch in April of 1961. He worked at the elevator, the locker, and farmed. He also served on the Clifton Township and Cenex Boards.
He is survived by his children, Carrie (Rod) Hansen of Turton, and Michael (Vonda) Clausen of Newell; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his niece and nephew; cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy; sister, Lois; and other family members.
