CAVOUR — LaVonne M. Walter, 88, of rural Cavour, passed away Sunday September 23, 2018, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 27, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with burial in St. Martin Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Welter Funeral Home with the family present. A Scripture Service will begin at 7 p.m.
LaVonne M. Lowery was born November 3, 1929, to Charles and Marie (Delvaux) Lowery in Huron. She graduated from Cavour High School and attended the St. John’s School of Nursing in Huron. She was united in marriage to Arland Walter December 29, 1948. She worked at St. John’s Hospital, the Beadle County Extension Center and for Huron Parks and Rec. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.
She is survived by her children, Stephen (Jodi) Walter of Huron, Keith Walter of Cavour, Gregory (Diane) Walter of Huron, Darial Loof (Todd Sorensen) of Sioux Falls, Laura (Greg) Gogolin of Rosemount, Minn., and Paula (Rick) Diegel of Steele, N.D.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mary Ann Andresen, Denise (Mel) Wise, and Marise Menking all of Stockton, Calif.
She was proceeded in death by her husband; son-in-law, Ivan Loof; and brothers, Duane Lowery, LuVern Lowery, Darrell Lowery, and an infant brother.
