To the Editor:

I have been watching the legislative session and wish to respond to what has happened so far.

Governor Noem proclaims to be pro-life, but doesn’t support legislation that would help children after they are here.

She is against helping the day care program and funding of summer meal programs for low-income children, yet she supports the $5 million private school voucher program. Apparently most of the Republican legislators agree with her, because they have helped kill these programs.

I also called the offices of Senators Rounds and Thune, and asked why they voted against the insulin bill that would cap the monthly charge at no more than $35. I have yet to receive a response.

I was told by staff that the senators would vote against the border bill, because Trump doesn’t like it and the House won’t vote for it. Why not pass it and send it to the House and let them kill it and look bad, instead of the Senate?

Apparently a person who is supposed to be a private citizen has full control over both houses of Congress. Imagine what would happen if he became president again.

Michael Busch questions my facts on a variety of issues. Fact: the poll workers were awarded $148 million from their lawsuit. Fact: if the workers he talks about had done what he said they did, they would have been prosecuted.

He accused me to not having facts, but he has not shared any actual facts. You can win in the court of public opinion, but in a court of law, you better produce facts, or you lose.
