To the Editor:

My friend, Snow, and I were at Campbell Park recently when we noticed a beautifully constructed round flower bench. I inquired as to who was responsible for building it and Chad Schroeder, our city’s Parks and Recreation director, advised me that a skillful, longtime park employee named Steve Van Winkle was the builder.

The round flower enclosed bench was donated in honor of Gordy Bennett for his many years of loyal service to the city’s Parks and Recreation Department.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Steve Van Winkle for his excellent workmanship. Check it out this spring and summer.
