DE SMET — Lois Marshall, 73, of De Smet, passed away on her birthday, Thursday, April 19, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in De Smet.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 28, at American Lutheran Church of DeSmet with Rev. Randy Koeller officiating. Burial will follow in De Smet Cemetery. Visitation hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Osthus Funeral Home of DeSmet.
Lois Marshall was born April 19, 1945, on a farm at Oldham to Aldridge and Betty Marshall. She attended elementary school at Drakota Country School and graduated from Oldham High School in 1964. After graduation, she worked as a nanny for Dilo and Margaret Schmidt of De Smet. She then worked various positions at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home until her retirement in 2003. She continued to work at the De Smet Wellness Center during her retirement years.
She enjoyed “coffeeing” with her friends and spending time with her great-niece and nephew, Emma and Grady. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her nephew, Heath (Carla) Marshall of Irene; and her great-niece and nephew, Emma and Grady.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Jean Marshall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the De Smet Event Center.
