MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Luella Vanderwaal of Minneapolis, Minn., passed away March, 22, 2019, at Avera Nursing Home in Marshall, Minn.
A memorial service was held August 2, 2019, at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, where her urn was placed next to her husband, Robert.
Luella Doris (Anderson) Vanderwaal was born February 20, 1929, to Daniel and Olga (Claussen) Anderson.
She married Robert Vanderwaal on July 1, 1950, at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine, Minn.
Luella is survived by her children, Susan Shurtz (Steve), Kent (Naomi) Vanderwaal, James (Jeanne) Vanderwaal, and William (Merrillee) Vanderwaal; grandchildren, Melanie Hill, Cameron Shurtz, Tabitha Chrisman, Samuel Vanderwaal, Jasper Vanderwaal, Melissa Parker, Faith Whyte, Adelaide Vanderwaal, Victoria Vanderwaal, Katherine Vanderwaal, and Nathaniel Vanderwaal; and three great-grandchildren, Eva Chrisman, Arya Chrisman, and Cole Vanderwaal.
