REDFIELD — Marian Ellen Starr, 86, of Redfield, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 1, at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Private burial will take place at a later date. Visitation with family present, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. A prayer service will follow at 7 p.m.
Marian Ellen Starr was born August 28, 1930, in Timber Lake to Opal (Roberts) and Raymond Thompson. She graduated in 1948, from Doland High School and attended business college.
She was united in marriage to Daryle Starr November 6, 1949.
She is survived by her children, Ronald Starr of Doland, Richard (Linda) Starr of Centennial, Colo., Robin (Dale) TerWee of Sturgis; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Holver; many nieces and nephews and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Leo, Melvin, and Burdette Thompson and Ray Williamson; sisters Wilma Holzer, and Betty Berndt; stepbrothers, Osmar, Lawson, and Leslie Williamson; stepsister, Clara Short; and grandson, Nathan Boyd.
The family has designated the Mount Hope Cemetery in Frankfort for memorial contributions.
Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
