HURON — Marlys Kay Gamber, 76 of Huron, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019, at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, June 20, at Welter Funeral Home with a luncheon to follow. Burial will be in the Wessington Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home; or one hour prior to the service.
Marlys Kay Davis, was born October 17, 1942, in Wessington to Archie E. and Lorine (Metschke) Davis. She graduated from Wessington High School. She worked as a cook for the SunQuest Healthcare Center, retiring in 2011. She was united in marriage to James Gamber February 3, 1962. Together they managed the Belmont Estates and the Huron Arms.
She is survived by her husband, James; daughter, Gail (James) Thomas of Pierre; one grandson; mother, Lorine Davis of Huron; brother, Ronald (Dorothy) Davis of Thorton, Colo.; and other family.
She was preceded in death by her father; children, Penny and Andy Gamber; sister, Judy Palmer; four brothers-in-law; and mother-in-law, Ruth Nelson.
