DERBY, Kan. — Richard “Pete” Petersen, 78, of Derby, Kan., passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017.
There will be a private service.
He was born February 2, 1939, in Huron (where his grandparents had homesteaded) to  Arthur and Freda Petersen. He had retired from Southwestern Bell as a Communications Technician and the Big Tool Store
He is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Paige (Kevin) Myers; and granddaughter, Cassidy Myers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Freda Petersen; sister, Maxine Krutzfeldt; brother, Dwayne Petersen.
A Memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Arrangements are with Smith Mortuary of Derby, Kansas.
