HOWARD — Shirley Mae Beers, 94, of Howard, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society, Howard.
Mass of Christian will be 10:30 a.m., today at St. Agatha Catholic Church in Howard with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Howard.
Shirley Mae Unterbrunner was born January 15, 1924, in Oldham to Michael and Gertrude (Dinges) Unterbrunner. She graduated from Oldham High School and received her teaching certificate from General Beadle in Madison.
She was united in marriage to Paul L. Beers June 5, 1951. The couple moved to the family farm near Argonne, retiring 1987. She was a member of St. Agatha Church in Howard.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Donald) Plahn of Jasper, Minn., Patsy Ann (Bob) Stevenson of Jamestown, N.D., Marcia (Mike) Whitney of Parker, Colo., Mary Kay (Randy) Merkel of Santee, Calif., Adele Beers of Sioux Falls, Dennis Beers of Howard, Kim (Robin) Beers of Wall, Mark (Lori) Beers of Sioux Falls, Terry (Amy) Beers of Howard; twenty grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; special friends Merleen Duxbury and Jaidyn Geidd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; daughter, Sharon Rae Wulf; and a brother, Robert.
