PIERRE — Stanley Eaton Boltz, 81, of Pierre, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019, in Huron at Sunquest Health Care.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, May 25, at Lewellen, Neb.
Stan was born February 18, 1937, in Grand Junction, Colo. to Keith and Charlotte (Eaton) Boltz. He lived in Grand Junction for a short time but grew up near Bayside, Va., before moving back to Fort Collins, Colo. where he graduated high school.
He was united in marriage to Karen Ruth (Hunt) Transmeier February 16, 1979. Stan enjoyed a variety of different jobs from farming and construction to law enforcement and detective work. His last job was working for the South Dakota Department of Transportation in Pierre where he worked from 1997 till his retirement.
He is survived by his children, Marlene (Dick) Noletubby, Leann (Ed) Fritzler, William (Jennifer) Boltz, Mary Jane (Don) Fritzler, Stan (Nancy) Boltz, Cliff (Julie) Transmeier, Steve Boltz, Todd Transmeier, and Cindy Transmeier, 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; son, Clayton; his parents; and sister, Jeannine (Tom) Roderer.
