SIOUX FALLS — Verna (Jackson) Hoffman, 91, of Sioux Falls, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017, at the Trail Ridge Memory Care Center in Sioux Falls.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 19, at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. Following lunch and a time of fellowship, burial will be in the Rockham Cemetery in Rockham. Visitation will be Monday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Verna Marie Jackson was born April 15, 1926, near Rockham, to Verne and Mabel (Busch) Jackson. She graduated from St. Lawrence High School, then earned her teaching certificate. She was united in marriage to Robert Hoffman September 29, 1946. They spent 63 plus years together farming northwest of Rockham. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Cogley of Sioux Falls, Jeanette (Paul) Hoffman DeHaan of Custer, and Bobbi Hoffman of Sioux Falls; five grandchildren: and ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Karen Pflanz, Rene (David) Kelnhofer, Clifford (Leota), Dick (Gwen), and Lyle (Kathy) Jackson; brother-in-law, Willard Hoffman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and four siblings.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Thelen-Hyke Funeral Home.
