HURON — Corwyn J. Glanzer, 61, of  Huron, passed away at his home, Wednesday, December 13, 2023.

Burial will follow 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Bethel Mennonite Brethren Church Cemetery in rural Yale.

Corwyn J. Glanzer was born to Pierre and Susan (Hofer) Glanzer on Feb. 23, 1962, in South Dakota. He was baptized June 27, 1976, by Pastor Ron Seibel at Bethel Church.

He grew up in Huron, graduating Huron High School in 1980. From there, he went onto Mitchell Votech from 1980 until 1982 for electrical construction, moving on to a job opportunity at Dakota Pork, where he worked from 1986 to 1989. He married Janie Hasting on June 25, 1988. To this union, they had one child, Tyson Glanzer. From 1989 until 2022, he worked for Trussbilt, eventually becoming the Maintenance Lead Man, and earning a reputation as a dedicated and passionate worker.

Corwyn was a true Jackrabbit, and loved watching all kinds of sports in his free time, as well as the SYFY and History Channel. He particularly enjoyed darts and horseshoes, but his true source of pride were his kids. He was their number one fan, and followed them everywhere.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his three children, Tyson (Jamie) Glanzer of Denver, Colo., Elvilena “Elly” Gascoigne of Huron, and Dale Gasacoigne of Huron; three siblings, Richard Glanzer, Myra (Robbin) Smidt, and Curt (Vicki) Glanzer, all of Huron; nine nieces and nephews, Chad (Niki) Smidt of Vermillion, Reed (Karen) Smidt of Mendota Heights, Minn., Cord (Taya) Glanzer of Carpenter, Cain (Casey) Glanzer of Carpenter, Chet (Grace) Glanzer of Huron, Cenzi (Wylee) Knudsen of Buffalo, Wyo.; and eight great-nieces and nephews, Tayen, Delaney, and Ashton Smidt, and Cason, Tripp, Cayden, Suzy Jo, and Cassidy Glanzer, and Sage Knudsen.

He was preceded in his death by his parents; and his loyal dog, Lady.
