HURON —Linda Clark, age 75, of Huron, gracefully departed this world on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Huron Regional Medical Center.
A service to honor her life will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at the Huron Christian Church. Visitation with cherished memories shared by family and friends is set from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, at the Kuhler Funeral Home.
Born on May 3, 1948, in Deadwood, Linda Louise Speck was the beloved daughter of Ray and Edna (Stahl) Speck.
Linda embraced life’s journey with grace, warmth, and an indomitable spirit. She found joy in every moment and touched the lives of all who knew her.
In 1973, she embarked on a lifelong journey with her late husband, Jim Clark, together; they shared the blessings of three daughters, Danette (Darrin) Lynd of Des Moines, Iowa, Angel (David) Hovde of Huron, and Jennifer (Anthony) Guilliams of Kansas City, Kan,, as well as five adored grandchildren; Blais Callies, Sarah Lynd and Josh Lynd, Myles Clark, and Sophia Guilliams. Linda later found renewed love and companionship with Alan Baysinger in 2010.
Throughout her life, Linda found solace and joy in a myriad of passions. From the thrill of waterskiing, which she embraced at a tender age, to the elegance of roller-skating, ice-skating, and the artistry of dance, her talent and passion for polka earned her recognition at the age of 10 in a 4-H Championship, and she continued to dazzle in countless jitterbug contests.
In her prime, Linda’s competitive spirit shone brightly on the volleyball court, where she proudly contributed to a seven-year championship reign among adult women.
Beyond her athletic pursuits, Linda was an artist in every sense of the word. Whether it was the delicate stitches of her sewing, the strokes of her paintbrush transforming houses, fences, or crafting pieces, or the boundless creativity she poured into refurbishing and crafting, Linda’s artistry knew no bounds.
Her love for family knew no limits, as she cherished moments spent playing cards and board games with her children and grandchildren. Even in her quiet moments, Linda found serenity in tending to her flower garden or simply communing with nature.
As we gather to celebrate Linda’s remarkable life, let us carry forward her spirit of joy, resilience, and love. Though she may have left this world, Linda will forever reside in our hearts, guiding us with her light and inspiring us with her enduring legacy.
