CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich.  — With a heart full of love and spirit as beautiful as the lilacs she adored, Linda Lou (Jost) Gullekson, 70, of Cedar Springs, Mich., left this earthy realm on Dec. 18, 2023, due to health complications.

Born on Oct. 21, 1953, in Mitchell to Leonard and Lillian (Lehr) Jost. She joined siblings: Ron, Judy and Sandy. Linda attended schools in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1972. It was in Huron, that she met and married her husband of 43 years, Donald Gullekson. In 1974, they made their home in Michigan. Linda’s life was a tapestry of love, service, and dedication that radiated in her every action and warmed every heart she touched. Her radiant soul and unwavering commitment to her loved ones were the cornerstones of her existence, and they shone brightly in everything she did.

Although her family was priority, Linda at times worked in various administrative, customer service, and dental assistant positions. Linda was a dedicated mother and loving grandmother. She was the unceasing cheerleader for her children: Jeff, Kim and Lindsey, standing by their side in every endeavor. Her joy was magnified whenever she was in the presence of her grandchildren: Madison, Griffin and Natalie. She loved baking cookies for others (earning her the moniker ‘Cookie Grandma’) and attending her children’s and grandchildren’s events. She was a pillar of strength and love for her family, always wanting them to be happy, safe, and secure. Linda was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.

Now, Linda rests in the company of those who went before her: her beloved husband, Don Gullekson (2018); her parents, Leonard and Lillian Jost; her siblings, Judy Jost, Ron and Ruthann (Nelson) Jost; and nephew, Kevin Jost.

Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she left behind: her children, Kim (Jason) Jancek, Jeff (Gena) Gullekson, and Lindsey Gullekson; her cherished grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy (Randy) Eden; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

In the words of the Apostle Paul, “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13). Linda’s life was the epitome of this verse, and her love will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her.
